Should you create a standardized recruitment process for a new startup?

I'm the business co-founder in our startup and creating processes to keep things running smoothly and being able to focus on sales.

Should startups have a process in the place for hiring? If so, what are some elements that one should consider having?

Absolutely! Having a process can ensure that you:

a) compare each candidate utilizing the same criteria

b) don't miss any important steps

c) streamline the process

I give my clients a flow chart that enables them to easily see what to do next. For example:

Technical candidate? Yes - set up technical assessment test No - arrange for on-site interviews with 3 team members

Be sure to include:

Where to post the job ad

Where to look for candidates

Who should write/approve the job description

and where to find templates (offer letter, background check form, etc)
