Where to find work in a part-time startup?

1
I am a software engineer. I am looking to work in some startup part time (paid or non-paid). Something to do after work or on the weekends. What is the best in-person place in the SF bay area or online forum/site (remote work?) to search for a possible startup?

You are in luck. There are about 1 million business people with startup ideas desperate to find a developer who'll work for cheap (or free). If you go to about any meet up, you'll bump into such people. Just be highly selective and only work on something that you find truly exciting. One way or another, it will be an experience.

  • Thanks for the response! Where/what are these in-person or online start-ups? I know they exists, but what is the best forum to find them? – Dan 9 years ago
  • Go to meetups (meetup.com). Hang out at the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View or many other coworking spaces. Those people are everywhere :-) – Alain Raynaud 9 years ago
