New message alert in browser header

I tend to keep my browser tabs open all the time, which means I have to actively refresh the BrightJourney page to see if there has been an update to Questions I have interacted with.
Facebook manages to grab my attention by adding an indicator for unread messages into the browser header. Is this achievable?

Love it! Adding it to the "dynamic reloads" feature that's being built, similar to what RB suggested here: http://www.brightjourney.com/roadmap/ability-see-others-also-answering-question-well
