CTO's tasks at a funded startup with 3-4 engineers?

What kind of day to day tasks does a CTO deal with at a seed-funded startup (seed, not series A) that has ~4 software engineers? I'm looking to apply for such positions on AngelList and curious what it entails.

At that early stage you can expect to do anything and everything needed to grow the startup.

That can include planning the architecture of the software, writing marketing copy to picking up lunch for the team. No job will be too small to get the company moving forward.

That said, here are some tasks you'll likely focus on more than others:

• Recruiting: expect to spend a good % of your time doing this.
• Learning about the ecosystem you're building your product in.
• Planning what you're going to build.
• Building it sometimes (writing code) with your engineers.
• Setting strategy with the other co-founder / CEO.
