How to get out of a one-man show pattern and hire people?

I have been running a success site for the last 6 years by myself. Most of my revenue comes from AdSense and CPA offers. While I've had years in those past 6 where I could have easily hired one or two people, I kept deciding to do all the work myself (from content creation, to marketing, to accounting).

I bet other entrepreneurs have faced the same hurdle -- how to get out of the "control freak" mentality that I can do it better than anyone else. How did you get over that and hire the first employee in your business?

There is no easy way to do this than to just jump right in. You can start with remote contractors on ODesk to get your feet wet.

That's a lower-cost way of learning how to delegate tasks.
